Home - Issues and Solutions - Outdoor Solutions - How to waterproof tiled terraces on which it is possible to lay new flooring
The old terrace has some small infiltration but the floor is? well solid and c’ e? a su cient space for overlapping new tile flooring.
1. Replace any detached tiles.
2. Clean the flooring of oils, greases, waxes, etc.
3. Spatula application of a first layer of about 2 mm. of ELASTOPROOF 639 (so mixed: add under stirring to the ELASTOPROOF B639 liquid in relation to three parts A639 with a B639 part, mix accurately until obtaining a homogeneous mixture free of lumps). For a better result we recommend l’ insertion in the first layer of an alkali-resistant fiberglass coated with 60 g / m2. On the first hardened layer (after 5/6 hours) apply a second layer of 2 mm. about. Do not apply over the technical joints.
4. After curing, at least after 5/6 days, lay the new floor (ceramic, stoneware, clinker, etc.).
Limit l’ intervention to the cantilevered terraces in the absence of underlying rooms. Respect any presence of structural joints. On large surfaces, create suitable joints.
