Home - Issues and Solutions - Outdoor Solutions - How to reclaim and encapsulate an asbestos-cement surface
For a long time and? proved that asbestos cement is? dangerous material as it is highly carcinogenic. All the as-asbestos cement products with l’ aging, especially if removed or manipulated, tend to disperse the fibers in the air&rsquo. For this reason, national and European regulations require special encapsulation treatments.
CLASS A: exposed all& # 39. Outside
Certificate ISTITUTO GIORDANO SpA of Bellaria (RN) Test report n. 220268 issued on 12/29/2006
1. The asbestos-cement surfaces must be treated beforehand to guarantee the effectiveness of the encapsulating coating.
2. The support must be cleaned and brushed. Foams or easily detachable particles must be removed mechanically. In case there are growths of mold, algae or lichens, è necessary to reclaim the surface with one or more 26-ugrave; hands of BIOCID Code 99200. Brush perfectly. In particular, to avoid dispersion in the air of the fibers and for the treatment of any waste water, the construction of the site and the management of the operating personnel, scrupulously follow the current legislation.
3. Apply one or two coats with a brush, roller or low-pressure sprayer, depending on the degree of chalking and absorption of the support, ANTIAMIANTO PRIMER solvent-based, anti-mold solvent-based fixative, with an average consumption of 0.12 l / m2 per coat.
4. After 24 hours from the 26-rsquo; application of ANTIAMIANTO PRIMER apply a first coat of ANTIAMIANTO encapsulating elastomeric paint. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours and apply a second coat of a different color than the first. The total average thickness of the dry encapsulating coating should not be reduced; be less than 300 microns and at no point shouldà be less than 250 microns.
