Home - Issues and Solutions - Indoor Solutions - How to renovate an old ceramic tile or concrete floor with an enamel resin
When è required the renewal of a tiled coating (ceramic, stoneware), a support in cement, glass and well-anchored glazes or other substrates that provide high adhesion performance, with a product particularly resistant to foot traffic and scratching è recommended l’ use of acrylic enamel with adhesion promoter Floor & Tiles .
Suitable for use both indoors and outdoors for the decoration and protection of floors in cellars, garages, warehouses, warehouses, shops, for the delimitation of parking lots , loading / unloading areas etc. Può be applied in areas subject to the passage of vehicles. Suitable for application on walls and floors of environments where resistance to condensation water and occasional contact with water is required, such as bathrooms and laundries.
1. PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT
Cementitious substrates: Any uncoated parts must be removed. If the surface è polish slightly roughen it. Clean with a suitable detergent, removing all traces of dust, dirt and rinse very well. Let it dry perfectly.
Asphalt: Wash with a pressure washer and industrial detergents to remove all traces of dirt and oily residues. Rinse very well and let it dry.
Ceramic and glass: Degrease and clean perfectly. In the case of application in bathrooms, laundries and other environments subject to stagnation of d’ water, use specific products for the removal of limescale when cleaning the substrate.
Old enamels: Any uneven parts must be removed. If the surface è polish roughen it by sanding lightly. Clean with detergent, removing all traces of dust, dirt and rinse very well. Let it dry perfectly.
Particularly difficult substrates (eg glossy ceramic tiles): Apply first coat of product using the neutral base diluted at 20 # 37 with water and suitably mixed with promoter.
Then finish with the colored product until perfect coverage.
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR COLORS OBTAINED FROM NEUTRAL BASE

3b. USE OF BASE A AS TRANSPARENT
Only in the case in which BASE A is used as a scratch-resistant / vitrifying paint, cioè transparent, add 12 # 37 of water (equal to 90 g on a 750 cc package and 360 g in a 2.5 liter one to obtain the finished product) and mix before proceeding with the mixing that we see below. On the colored White and BASE A you must not do it.
WARNING
Carry out adhesion tests in advance as the substrates may have undergone invisible oil-water repellent treatments.
